‘Padmaavat’ box-office collection Day 20: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s periodic drama mints Rs 3.5 crore
Meanwhile, Padmaavat was finally released in Bhopal on Saturday – over a fortnight late and in such hush-hush manner that most of the city knew about the screening only after the first show was over. The controversy seems to have run out of steam. There were no Karni Sena guys swarming the streets after multiple screenings across the city. Even the viewers seemed too jaded to cheer. Indore, however, has to wait longer. Cinema owners in MP’s business hub cancelled Padmaavat’s screening for the third time on Saturday. This included a multiplex that had scheduled “surprise show” at 5pm. By then, Bhopal shows were running to packed houses.
